CSB Youth Summer Classes

Pre-Pointe Class Fridays 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

CSB's pre-pointe ballet class is the perfect stepping stone for dancers who are preparing to transition onto pointe. The class follows CSB's Pointe readiness program and is focused on building strength, flexibility, and proper technique, emphasizing footwork, ankle stability, and overall alignment. Dancers work on improving their core strength and balance, key elements for safely dancing en pointe.

First Year Pointe Class Wednesdays 6:30-7:30

This class is designed for dancers who have completed pre-pointe. This class focuses on foundational techniques like proper alignment, how to stand on pointe, basic barre exercises, and simple movements while wearing pointe shoes, often with a strong emphasis on strengthening the feet and ankles to safely transition into pointe work.

A ballet summer intensive is an excellent investment for dancers looking to deepen their craft, expand their horizons, and take significant steps toward their personal or professional goals.

At CSB, students can enjoy the benefits of a diverse program, taught by high-level teachers, and students learn the details that take a dancer from good to excellent.

CSB’s summer intensive offers a two-hour ballet technique class and an hour pointe class that gives teachers the opportunity to go more in-depth, expand students’ vocabulary, and offer tailored advice and actionable guidance to accelerate improvement.

Students also receive one or two classes per day in other disciplines, such as jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, Bollywood, and Latin movement styles. CSB also offers conditioning and yoga classes to help strengthen and balance the body.

Students work with teachers to learn more about techniques, increase their vocabulary, and work on their overall strength, flexibility, and stamina. Students of this age are at a critical point in their training. Teachers take great care to ensure every student builds good habits, keeping them safe and healthy while nurturing their artistry and offering a technical foundation. The Intermediate Intensive shares the same benefits for students as the Advanced Intensive for older students, but is tailored for students’ age and developmental needs.
